The Collective is dedicated to providing a dynamic co-photography studio and versatile micro event space.

OUR MISSION is to foster a creative hub where photographers and content creators of all levels can access professional facilities, collaborate, and create. Doubling as micro venue, we aim to facilitate memorable experiences and gatherings, enriching our community through celebration and connection.

EVENTS -
Not only is the space perfect for parties, but also to teach a class, host a seminar, plan a networking mixer, client appreciation, or open a pop-up shop. It would even be the perfect spot for a bridal getting ready suite. 

STUDIO -
Endless opportunities to provide your clients with mini sessions, headshots, yearbook photos, newborn sessions and more. And the studio is not just limited to photographers, but is available for other forms of content creation, like filming your YouTube videos, reels and pod-casts, in an aesthetically pleasing neutral space.

GENERAL

What is the maximum guest capacity?

Our space accommodates up to 40 guests.

What types of events can be hosted at the Collective?

We host baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, micro weddings, networking events, corporate gatherings, workshops, photoshoots, and more!

Where are you located?

The Collective is located at 214 S Michigan Ave, Howell, MI in the heart of Livingston County.

What's included?

Your rental includes access to our fully customizable event space, tables, chairs, lounge furniture, seating arrangements set up before arrival, and use of our kitchenette. Additional event décor, linens, food, and beverages are not provided by the Collective.

Booking + Payments

How do I book the space?

Submit an inquiry using our CONTACT FORM. Once we confirm availability, you’ll receive a rental agreement and payment link. A 50% payment is required to secure your date.

How do the RENTAL BLOCKS WORK?

We offer flexible rental options while ensuring the space is refreshed between bookings.
Morning Rentals: Available anytime between 8 AM - 2 PM
Reset Period: The space is closed from 2 PM - 4 PM for cleaning and setup
Evening Rentals: Available anytime between 4 PM - 10 PM
Full Day: Full access to the space between 8 AM - 10 PM

Morning rentals can start anytime after 8 AM but must end by 2 PM
Evening rentals can start anytime after 4 PM but must end by 10 PM
You choose the start and end time within these blocks, that works best for your event!

When is the final payment due?

The remaining balance, plus a refundable security deposit, is due the day before your event.

What is your cancellation policy?

The first payment serves as a non-refundable retainer to secure your date. If you need to reschedule, we may be able to apply a portion of your payment to a future rental.

Food + Drinks

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

Yes! You can bring your own food or work with any caterer of your choice. Food must be cooked ahead of time, since we are not rated as a commercial kitchen. However, you are allowed to use warming elements such as chafing dishes with wick fuel (Sternos) or electric crock pots. 

Can I serve alcohol?

Yes, as long as it is a private event and alcohol is not sold. We strongly recommend hiring a licensed bartender for safety and a seamless experience. Visit MICHIGAN.GOV to see state laws.

DECOR + SET UP

Can I decorate the space?

Absolutely! We encourage you to personalize the space for your event. You can rearrange most furniture except for the fireplace and wall on wheels.

We ask that you do not use adhesives on walls but offer arches, a backdrop stand, and ceiling hooks for hanging decor, balloon arches, and florals.

How will the space be configured?

We offer multiple seating arrangement options to fit your event needs. After booking, you’ll receive a seating chart to select your preferred layout. Our team will have everything set up before you arrive, so all you have to do is add your finishing touches!

Is there a way to see the space before booking?

Yes! You can check out our 360° TOUR or schedule an in-person visit.

Parking + Accessibility

How do we access the space on the day of our event?

You will receive an access code the week of your event, which will allow you to enter through the front door at your scheduled rental time. The door remains locked when not in use, so please ensure your guests arrive within your rental period. If you need assistance upon arrival, feel free to reach out!

Where can guests park?

Street parking is available, and we are a short walk from four public lots in downtown Howell.
A parking map is provided with your rental agreement for easy guest access. The WASH TUBS lot across the street is not a public lot. Hosts and guests are advised not to park there. Vehicles can be towed at the owners expense. 

IS THERE A BACK DOOR?

No, access to the space is only available through the front entrance. The back door is an emergency exit only and should only be used in case of an emergency. Opening it will trigger a silent alarm and automatically dispatch emergency services. Please ensure all guests and vendors use the front entrance to avoid disruptions.

After the Event

What do I need to do for cleanup?

Bag all trash, remove personal items, and return any moved furniture to its original place.

When will I get my security deposit back?

Deposits are refunded within 48 hours, barring no damage or contract violations.
